Painted Expressions Face Paint and Henna Contract:
Terms, Conditions and Policies
By reserving entertainment with us you agree to our terms, conditions and policies listed…
Please be advised the booking deposit is non-refundable as it is used to secure and hold your event date. There are no exceptions for last minute cancellations.
COVID Statement:
Face paint is actually makeup. We use cosmetic grade disinfecting agents in our paintbrush water. You can choose for us to paint an arm rather than a face if preferred. Even with added precautions, there is no way to avoid all risk of viral transmission in face and body art - do so at your own risk.
We follow a strict code of practice regarding hygiene. We use a clean sponge for each person and brushes are cleaned regularly throughout each event. All equipment is cleaned thoroughly after each event.
To ensure that health and hygiene standards are maintained, we ask that our products remain untouched by anyone other than the members of the team.
Payment:
Payment is to be received before artist arrives or once artist is set up to begin SERVICE.
If you cancel 3 days before your event, you will be responsible for the full amount contracted that is owed. If you wish to reschedule, then a new booking fee for the new requested date and time is owed and the original booking fee will not be refunded. This is to ensure fair, secured bookings for the hired entertainer.
Please be advised that all activities are time sensitive and artist is not required to paint late guests. Please ensure all guests wanting paintings or balloon animals are present during the time the artist is booked. Please note that additional time may be added at the rate of $75/30 minutes if the entertainer has availability.
Weather:
Our paints contain waxes and glycerin which if exposed to direct sunlight, can become unusable from melting. Therefore, we ask that shelter is provided even in sunny conditions. A tent, gazebo or canopy are all great options. We can bring our own canopy for a $50 set up fee if you cannot provide us with one. This would need to be requested at time of booking.
Rain Date Clause:
We do not accept outdoor gigs that do not have a backup location due to weather. Client understands they are paying for the date, not just the service. Once the date is reserved, we turn away other work for that day that books elsewhere. Therefore, the client is responsible for the date rain or shine. We understand weather is unpredictable. All outdoor events must have a weather back-up plan in place. Indoor accommodations must be provided in the event of adverse weather such as rain, snow, heavy winds, etc. The client agrees to pay the full amount contracted once the entertainer has arrived at the event location, even if it is raining. We do not offer refunds for inclement weather, but we can try and rebook for a future date if done so within an adequate timeframe. If you are not able to remedy the sun/wind/rain exposure by moving to a sheltered or alternate indoor location, we will have to leave without refunding payment.
Parking:
Please either leave a space open in front of the house on the street, the driveway, or a loading dock so Artist can unload equipment. The Client will reimburse artist/s for any parking fees.
Set up for event:
We will provide all necessary equipment to set up and dispose of our trash not including proper shelter. If a tent is required and you are not able to provide one, please let us know in advance ($50 extra set up charge will apply)
For small private events our artist needs a 5 x 5 area. Larger events may require multiple artists, equipment and a minimum of a 10 x 10 area.
Artists:
We have the right to substitute talent at any time due to scheduling and location coordination of multiple events. If you want a particular artist, you must specify at booking.
Noise and Lighting:
Please provide adequate lighting or ask about arranging for us to bring lights. You would think it goes without saying but we have to be able to see what we are painting or doing. Failure to remedy this situation will result in us leaving without refunding any monies. We also love that you hired a band/DJ but if we can't hear your guests, or they can't hear us it will massively slow us down. Please locate us away from speakers.
Supervision:
Please ensure that children are supervised at all times. Adults must remain present with their children. We assume no responsibility in watching or caring for your children at any time. We take no responsibility for the welfare or safety of persons waiting to be painted.
Face Paints:
All products used are water based and tested for use on the skin. They comply with FDA regulations. However, please note that all cosmetics can, on rare occasions, cause allergic reactions and we accept no liability for this. If the person to be painted has not been painted before or has sensitive skin, it is possible that face painting may cause irritation. Please therefore ask for a patch test. If there is no reaction after 15 minutes, the person may be painted. It is the client's responsibility to advise us of any sensitivity prior to painting, and we accept no liability for any irritation caused.
For safety and quality purposes, designs for children under the age of 3 will be completed at the artist’s discretion. Children under 3 must be able to sit still and follow directions. We are also happy to offer an arm or hand design upon request.
Please note that many artists do not paint children under the age of 2.
Permission of Guest:
At private events/parties, it is the responsibility of the organizer to ensure that the permission of parents/guardians is obtained prior to services being started.
Entertainers Rights:
We reserve the right to refuse to paint the face of any person who appears unwell or with medical conditions such as, but not limited to, cold sores, psoriasis, open wounds, broken skin, conjunctivitis or other eye infections, runny nose, infected skin, or headlice. In these circumstances we are able to paint, at the artists’ discretion, the arm or hand of that person. We will not paint any person (regardless of age) against their wishes – including sleeping children.
We will not paint anything that the artist deems to be offensive, obscene and/or inappropriate for the event or group. Verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated.
All persons wishing to be painted must be presented with a clean, dry face.
Once the queue has been closed, no-one else will be painted. Please do not eat or drink while being painted.
Paint and Makeup Removal:
Face paints are easily removed with soap and water. Baby wipes are not recommended as these may cause allergic reactions when used on the face. Some paints may leave a slight tint on the skin which should fade in a day or so. All paints used are water-based and as such should not stain clothing. However, we will not be held liable for any damage to clothing or property. Should this occur please cold soak the item prior to washing.
Photographs:
Photographs will not be used without parental/guardian consent. Any photographs taken will be used for promotional purposes only and identities will not be revealed to third parties. A complimentary copy can be emailed or texted to the parent/guardian upon request.
Extreme Adverse Working Conditions:
Artist has the right to cease painting and leave without refusing any money if there are extreme adverse working conditions and the client fails to remedy the situation after it has been brought to the client's attention. Adverse conditions included but not limited to are destructive, violent, or extreme inappropriate behavior of a child, pet, or adult. Illegal activities; or otherwise, dangerous conditions.
The client agrees to pay for any accidents or injuries caused by pets or guest, and/or damage to artist equipment or supplies caused by pets, lawn sprinklers, or guest. Under no circumstances will artist supervise children. Their behavior and safety are the clients and/or parent’s responsibility.
Balloon Twisting:
Please note that balloon animals are not recommended for children under the age of 3, as they may present a choking hazard. Additionally, balloons can potentially cause injury to the face, eyes, mouth, or hands if they pop while being handled. If a parent or guardian chooses to allow a child under the age of 3 to receive a balloon animal against this professional recommendation, Painted Expressions Face Paint and Henna shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or incidents resulting from the use or handling of balloon animals.
If you have any concerns regarding our services or the quality of services provided, you must notify us while the entertainer is still present at your event. This allows us the opportunity to address and resolve any issues promptly.
Once the entertainer has departed from the event, it will be considered mutually acknowledged and agreed that you, as the client, were satisfied with the services provided.
THIS IS A RELEASE OF YOUR RIGHTS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE AGREEING.
By reserving entertainment with us you agree to our terms, conditions and policies listed above.
This contract becomes effective once the deposit and portion of the total balance are received, thereby securing your event date and time. All dates and times are mutually agreed upon by both parties. The remaining balance is due upon the artist’s arrival and must be paid prior to the start of services unless otherwise specified in a prior agreement.
Painted Expressions Face Paint and Henna look forward to helping make your event special and memorable. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are committed to working with you to accommodate your needs and ensure all participants enjoy a fun and vibrant experience.
